About Us

Calvin Paulsen is the CEO of HCBR Texas, Inc. – DBA Hill Country Building & Renovation. He has been in the construction industry for 40+ years and married for 34 years. He has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Calvin takes pride in providing for his family each and every day by doing what he loves. He likes building steel buildings, additions and stand-alone workshops, commercial projects, warehouses, and sweat equity projects; using honest hard work, integrity, and skill accumulated over long years of practical application.

One of his family’s favorite areas in the country to explore is the Pacific Northwest. Calvin is often found rafting in the wild rivers of Idaho, camping, hiking, exploring Northern California, and exploring the coastline and Cascade mountains of Oregon.

Calvin and his family live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and take every opportunity they can to explore the unique beauty that Texas has to offer! As a family, they love spending time together to tell old stories and make new ones.

From renovating a kitchen to building a custom home using honest hard work, integrity, and skill, Calvin takes pride in providing for his family each and every day by doing what he loves. He is blessed to wake up every day knowing that he is not only building additions and buildings of all sorts but making a significant difference in the lives of his clients by providing them with a quality project at a reasonable rate.

This is a well house multi-use building we built in our backyard to house the well equipment with a 5200 gallon storage tank in the tall section, a potting shed (in the back) with a garden storage room. Then a tool room to relieve the garage space of all the HCBR tools, and the open space on the left for the kayaks, lawn mowers and more tools. In the Texas Hill Country, you just can’t have enough space to put things.
